Roller Coasters+6 year olds

For as long as I could remember my Grandma had us play this game. She would ask us what was your favorite part of say the meal or trip. I’d have to say the roller coasters were my favorite part. I just love the thrill you get out of them and adrenaline rush. But I’d have to say what I loved most out of them is how much fun the whole family had on them! Seeing my little siblings faces and how excited they got…. it was priceless!

We weren’t really sure how many the kids would be able to ride. So when we got there and the very first one we went on was Thunderation, they were opened up to a whole new world! I wish we could of video taped their reactions on the ride and when it was done. Pedro laughed the Whole time. Josie just got on anything we put her on! When we got off Powder Keg my Dad asked her if she liked it and she shook her head no and said “that was scary”. And my Dad said “I know that is what makes it so much fun”! To which she replied with “Lets go do it again!”. A 6 year old!!!!!! I never would of done that at that age!

I really don’t feel like being home right now. Vacation was amazing to say the least! We had such a good time. It so refreshing to just be with family and not have anything needing to be done. I wish it didn’t have to end.

My mom took my camera when we went in the evening! She got some really cool shots!

p.s. if you think riding roller coasters if fun… try them at night!!! You won’t ever want to ride one during the day again.

Jeremy+Erika=Engaged

We had a complete blast at Jeremy and Erika’s engagement session. I had met with Erika a couple months ago and I was so excited that she chose me. Its hard to describe the feeling of complete strangers booking with me. When you have no friends in common or not one of their friends recommended me. Its pretty cool!!!!

My friend Rachel from Rachel Christine Photography got to come with me and it couldn’t of been a more fun evening. This was my first shoot where it was cloudy and raining. I have had a few cloudy sessions but for the most part I always shoot in sun. And boy its a complete difference. But I felt like it fit our locations better… the rainy look with some old buildings!

These two had us laughing pretty much the whole session. Jeremy is a hoot!!! I can tell you are making Erika very happy and thank you both so much for working with me!

Kenny+Brianna=Married

How do you start a blog post when there really is so many amazing things you can think of from a couple??? I really am speechless with how much fun Kenny and Bri’s wedding was.

They had decided to not see each other before the wedding. Which can be a little scary for me as a photographer. But one thing that I really love about Brianna is how she made pictures a important part of their big day. She had scheduled to make time in between the ceremony and reception for us to have time to focus on them. Which is so so important! I feel like a broken record at times… but believe me when I say the BIGGEST thing to capture is the couple itself. And that is exactly what they did!

I got to shoot their engagement session last fall. So when their big day came it felt like a friend was getting married. I feel so lucky to have been apart of their day!! I can’t thank you enough for choosing me.

something to Laugh about

Lately I have noticed how I’m not one of those people that laughs really easily. You know when someone is just so happy they laugh about everything? Even if it sounds so ridiculous, it would never happen, and just plain goofy. Its not that I’m not happy because really I feel really content and happy. But its more of it takes a lot for me to “Truly” laugh.

So I have realized I want to be more laughable. My little brother Pedro laughs at anything and everything! Anyone can tell this kid truly enjoys life. And its not a little laugh its a big huge cackle. Like cartoon laugh. It can make you laugh even if you have had the worst day of your life. When he was in the orphanage everyone said they never heard him laugh or talk. He was just there…. and now he never stops! So this was a kid that had absolutely nothing, no parents, and hardly any food. I have all of those and so much more!!! So why not laugh? Why not enjoy those little moments a little more? Why not laugh instead of getting upset?

I am so blessed…. I have a home and a family that loves me. And most of all I have a Savior that was crucified on the cross JUST to be with a un-laughable sinner like me!!!  The song “Love Song”  by Third Day always comes to my mind when I want to remember how huge it was and is what Jesus does for me. He was whipped and in pain just to be with me?

So today I am trying to laugh at all the things that go wrong and all the frustrations that come. Because really isn’t life too short not to laugh?

If this doesn’t make you laugh I’m not sure what will! This kid was 5 I think… And he was having a blast. He was really going at it. The full wedding post will be up on the blog tomorrow.

Happy Wednesday!

Christopher+Tiffany=Engaged Part I

Oh you guys… where do I even begin to start?! I still can’t believe you are engaged!!! I love all the goofy memories we have together. Even though I’m not one of most of your friends that you have known your whole lives I feel like I have. Its still so hard to believe we aren’t still in youth group. When the highlight of our night was seeing who was bringing snacks and guessing what they would bring.

Tiffany I’m so glad you have found the perfect one for you. I just love seeing you all happy! When I went home and looked at the pictures it brought tears to my eyes. I can’t quite describe how blessed I feel that you have chosen me. It still feels like yesterday we were on the youth retreat, talking in the tent at night, and talking about our dreams about getting married. And now its here for you!!!!

Thank you for allowing me to not only be by your side as you enter into this new phase but let me capture it. Love you both!!
